In this workshop participants will learn how to work with two of the most used VJing and Video Mapping software’s, modul 8 and MadMapper.
Thanks to this knowledge participants will understand how to create ad hoc video files to be used for a video mapping project.
The participants will work alone or in groups to develop a personal Video Mapping project on a surface that will be provided by ECHO Festival (TBD)
– Demo Version of Modul8
– Demo Version of Madmapper
– Basic knowledge of edit and 2D/3D animation software like ( After Effects / Cinema 4D / Premiere Pro / etc ) in order to produce the personal project.
– Each participant must bring his own Mac laptop with OSX 10.7 Lion or above.

Introduction to basic principles of Video Mapping and examples
Madmapper
– introduction to the software
– user interface
– how to import and use image and video files.
– how to use surfaces, mesh warping
– output setup
– Integration with other software’s via Syphon
– Examples of projection on a 3D element.
– MIDI mapping

– output setup for Madmapper

DAY 2
– recap on Madmapper and Modul8
– video production: how to design ad hoc contents for a video mapping
– how to import and use personal contents via modul8 or Madmapper.
